The phrase “Mutually Assured Destruction” (M.A.D.) originates from Cold War nuclear strategy — the idea that any act of aggression guarantees total annihilation on both sides. In this context, it’s repurposed as a metaphor for creative transformation: the destruction of one identity to make room for another.
It captures the tension between creation and annihilation, a theme that has always run through my art — from my graffiti origins to the cinematic work as a art director for Smokin Mirrors Prod. . The “mutual” aspect also mirrors the dialogue between artist and city, between public walls and private imagination, between Montalvo and “Nuke.”
Truly do we live on earth?
